High-gloss futurism meets sharp, percussive rap. A blend of avant-garde fashion aesthetics and neon-lit electronic pop for late nights and bold moves.
Taeyong’s music feels like a high-speed chase through a futuristic metropolis. It is sleek, expensive, and unapologetically bold, characterized by sharp rhythmic precision and a kaleidoscopic approach to production. His sound often pivots between aggressive, bass-heavy rap verses and surprisingly tender, melodic hooks that shimmer with a digital sheen. There is a constant sense of movement, as if the tracks are constantly evolving to keep up with his own restless creative energy.
What truly sets him apart is his commitment to the 'weird.' While his music fits within the broad K-pop ecosystem, he frequently leans into avant-garde textures, glitchy transitions, and unconventional vocal placements that feel more like performance art than standard radio fare. He uses his voice as a physical instrument, often prioritizing the percussive quality of his delivery over traditional melody, creating a sound that is as much about the 'feel' of the syllables as the meaning of the words.
For those new to his solo work, the TAP EP is the definitive starting point. It captures his ability to balance mainstream accessibility with his signature eccentricities. It is music for people who appreciate the intersection of high fashion, street culture, and cutting-edge electronic production, perfect for moments when you need to feel like the main character in a sci-fi thriller.
