SVDDEN DEATH

Brutal, high-tech dubstep that feels like a mechanical nightmare. Heavy riddim rhythms meet black metal aesthetics for the ultimate high-energy mosh pit soundtrack.

Intro

SVDDEN DEATH creates music that feels like a physical assault, blending the repetitive, hypnotic bounce of riddim with the abrasive textures of industrial noise and metal. It is a sonic landscape of jagged edges, metallic screeches, and sub-bass so heavy it feels structural. The sound is unapologetically dark, often leaning into horror-inspired imagery and occult themes that set it apart from the neon-soaked aesthetics of mainstream EDM.

What makes Danny Howland distinctive is his rejection of standard genre tools. By opting for older Reason-based synthesis over the ubiquitous Serum wavetables, he achieves a 'crunch' and a 'bite' that sounds more organic and dangerous than his peers. His VOYD project in particular pushes this to the extreme, stripping away melodic safety nets in favor of pure, rhythmic terror and complex sound design that mimics the sound of grinding machinery.

For those new to this darkness, VOYD Vol. I is the essential entry point for understanding his impact on the riddim scene. If you prefer a slightly more structured but still punishing experience, his collaboration 'Sell Out' with Marshmello or the 'Harbinger' album showcases his ability to balance sheer violence with professional, large-scale festival production.

Daniel James "Danny" Howland (born June 29, 1993), better known by his alias Svdden Death (stylized in all caps), is a Los Angeles DJ and producer from San Jose, California. He is known for his song "Sell Out", a collaboration with American multi-platinum artist Marshmello that peaked on Billboard's Hot Dance/Electronic Songs at the No. 36 position in early 2019. Howland makes high-energy music that falls into the genre of dubstep and riddim.
