Intro

Split Seconds craft a sound that feels like the exact moment the sun hits the horizon on a Western Australian beach. It is bright and melodic on the surface, but there is a persistent undercurrent of nostalgia and gentle melancholy that keeps it from being simple sunshine pop. The music is built on a foundation of clean, jangly guitars and driving rhythms that feel both urgent and relaxed.

What truly sets them apart is Sean Pollard's distinctive baritone. In a genre often dominated by higher-register indie vocalists, his voice provides a grounded, mature warmth that gives the lyrics a sense of lived-in wisdom. The arrangements are thoughtful, often incorporating subtle keyboard textures and vocal harmonies that expand the songs into something more cinematic and expansive than your average garage-born indie rock.

Start with 'Bed Down' to hear their knack for an infectious hook, then move to 'All You Gotta Do' for a masterclass in their signature blend of upbeat tempo and reflective lyricism. It is the kind of music that feels like a companion for transitions, whether you are moving cities or just moving from the day into the night.
