Formed in the United Kingdom in 1996, the electronic project Shpongle consists of musicians Simon Posford and Raja Ram. Signed to Twisted Records, the duo pioneered the psybient genre by blending global traditional sounds with psychedelic trance and ambient textures. Their expansive discography, which includes the 1998 debut Are You Shpongled? and the 2017 release Codex VI, remains defined by a unique synthesis of organic instrumentation and modern electronic production.
