Formed in 2006 in Traverse City, Michigan, the American electronic band Salem consists of Jack Donoghue and John Holland. Widely recognized as pioneers of the witch house genre, the group also incorporates elements of ethereal wave and synth-pop. Following their 2010 debut album King Night, the duo released the 2020 mixtape Stay Down and the album Fires in Heaven, continuing their musical output despite internal disputes regarding former member Heather Marlatt.
