Intro

Run Kid Run delivers a quintessential mid-2000s alternative sound that sits right at the intersection of pop punk energy and power pop melody. Their music is defined by a relentless optimism, characterized by crisp, overdriven guitars that feel more like a warm embrace than a sonic assault. The production is impeccably clean, allowing every vocal harmony and drum fill to land with maximum impact.

What sets them apart is the sheer earnestness of their delivery. While many of their contemporaries leaned into angst or irony, Run Kid Run maintained a steadfastly hopeful perspective. Their songs often feature soaring choruses designed for sing-alongs, backed by the kind of tight, professional musicianship that comes from years of playing together in various projects across the Midwest scene.

Start with their debut, 'This Is Who We Are', to hear the definitive James Paul Wisner production style that helped define the era. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who misses the golden age of Tooth & Nail Records or wants a high-energy soundtrack for a long drive with friends.
