High-octane Australian rock that slams together nu-metal riffs, trap beats, and pop-punk hooks. Aggressive, neon-soaked, and built for the mosh pit.
RedHook sounds like a chaotic, neon-drenched collision between a 2000s nu-metal revival and a modern electronic rave. Their music is characterized by massive, down-tuned guitar riffs that suddenly give way to glitchy trap beats and shimmering synth-pop melodies. It is loud, unapologetic, and possesses a frantic energy that feels both dangerous and deeply fun, like a horror movie set in a nightclub.
What truly sets them apart is Emmy Mack's vocal versatility, which pivots instantly from sugary pop hooks to rapid-fire rap verses and guttural screams. The production is dense and maximalist, often incorporating industrial textures and 'stutter' effects that keep the listener off-balance. They manage to bridge the gap between heavy alternative rock and chart-ready pop without losing the grit of their Sydney punk roots.
Start with 'Bad Decisions' or 'Cure 4 Psycho' to hear their signature blend of mental health-focused lyricism and explosive sonic shifts. These tracks encapsulate their ability to turn personal trauma into anthemic, high-energy rock. If you want to hear their heavier, more experimental side, dive into their debut full-length, 'Postcard From A Living Hell'.
