Intro

Post Animal sounds like a technicolor collision between 70s stadium rock and modern indie-psych. Their music is characterized by a dense, shimmering wall of sound where multiple guitars weave intricate patterns around thick, melodic basslines and driving percussion. It is high-fidelity but retains a gritty, DIY spirit born from the Chicago basement scene.

What truly sets them apart is their democratic approach to songwriting and performance. With nearly every member contributing vocals and writing, their tracks can shift from ethereal, Tame Impala-esque dreaminess to heavy, sludge-influenced riffs within a single movement. The vocal harmonies are particularly striking, often echoing the lush, stacked arrangements of 60s sunshine pop but filtered through a modern, effects-heavy lens.

Start with 'When I Think of You in a Castle' to hear them at their most hook-filled and accessible. It perfectly captures their ability to balance complex, progressive structures with undeniable pop sensibilities. From there, dive into 'Forward Motion Godyssey' for a more expansive, cinematic experience that pushes their psychedelic boundaries even further.
