Formed in 2007 in Owatonna, Minnesota, Owl City is the synth-pop project of American musician Adam Young. Initially gaining traction through Myspace, the act eventually signed with Republic Records. Young achieved significant mainstream success with the 2009 album Ocean Eyes, which featured the Diamond-certified hit single Fireflies. The project has since earned industry recognition, including a Record of the Year award, solidifying Young's impact on the electronic music landscape.
