Orchid

Abrasive, hyper-speed emotional outbursts that redefined hardcore. Dissonant guitars and shredded vocals for moments of absolute, unvarnished catharsis.

Intro

Orchid sounds like a panic attack that has been weaponized into art. It is a relentless barrage of high-pitched shrieks, chaotic drums, and guitars that oscillate between melodic octave runs and jagged, dissonant noise. The songs are famously short, often collapsing under their own weight before the two-minute mark, leaving the listener breathless and slightly disoriented.

What truly sets them apart is the intellectual friction at the heart of the noise. While the music is primal and violent, the lyrics and aesthetic are deeply rooted in post-modern philosophy and critical theory. It is the sound of an Ivy League library being burned down in a basement show, combining high-concept thinking with the most extreme physical expression of emotion possible.

Start with 'Chaos Is Me' for the definitive statement on the genre. It is the blueprint for 'emoviolence,' capturing a band at the peak of their frantic, destructive powers. If you can handle the first sixty seconds, you are ready for the rest of the journey.
