Intro

Olivia Olson possesses a voice that feels both impossibly polished and deeply human. While many first encountered her as a child powerhouse in film, her mature sound is defined by a sophisticated restraint. It is music that lives in the quiet spaces between pop confidence and indie-folk vulnerability, often anchored by a prominent, melodic bassline and sparse acoustic instrumentation that lets her vocal nuances take center stage.

What truly sets her apart is the ability to imbue even the most fantastical or character-driven material with genuine emotional stakes. Whether she is performing a high-energy pop duet or a stripped-back existential lament, there is a consistent 'cool' factor, a detached but soulful delivery that feels modern and timeless. Her music often carries a specific nocturnal energy, perfect for moments of introspection.

New listeners should start with her work on the Adventure Time soundtracks to hear her unique blend of melancholy and whimsy, then move to 'Nowhere Land' to experience her evolution into a fully realized indie-pop singer-songwriter. It is the ideal discovery for anyone who loves high-quality vocals without the over-production of mainstream Top 40.

Olivia Olson (born May 21, 1992) is an American actress, singer-songwriter, and screenwriter, largely known for her voice roles as Vanessa Doofenshmirtz in Phineas and Ferb and Marceline the Vampire Queen in Adventure Time. She also played the character of Joanna in the 2003 film Love Actually and its 2017 short sequel Red Nose Day Actually. Along with this, she is also a writer, having written the Boom! Studios graphic novel Marcy and Simon, co-authored Adventure Time: The Enchiridion and Marcy's Super-Secret Scrapbook, and contributed writing to the best-seller Adventure Time Encyclopedia for Cartoon Network. In 2023, she began writing for the Phineas and Ferb revival.
