Intro

Oficina G3 delivers a sound that is both physically massive and technically staggering. It is the sound of a band that has spent decades perfecting the intersection of heavy metal aggression and progressive complexity. You can expect thunderous double-kick drumming, intricate slap-bass runs, and guitars that pivot from crushing riffs to neoclassical shredding in a heartbeat. The production is gleaming and modern, ensuring every layer of their dense arrangements is felt.

What truly sets them apart is their restless evolution. They began as a hard rock outfit but transformed into a progressive powerhouse, incorporating atmospheric synths and theatrical vocal performances that rival the giants of the genre. There is a palpable sense of urgency and conviction in the music, a feeling that every note is played with the highest possible stakes, whether they are in a quiet piano-led bridge or a chaotic, polyrhythmic breakdown.

For those new to the band, the Mauro Henrique era represents their technical peak. Start with the album Depois da Guerra to hear how they blend melodic hooks with punishing metal instrumentation. It is music for people who want their rock to be intellectually stimulating and emotionally resonant, providing a soundtrack for moments of intense focus or spiritual searching.

Oficina G3 is a Christian metal band from São Paulo, Brazil. Lead vocalist and guitarist Juninho Afram formed the band along with drummer Walter Lopes and bassist Wagner García in 1987. Through their history they have changed their musical style very drastically. Initially they were a heavy metal / hard rock band with influences from Petra and Stryper, then they changed to a more pop rock and metal oriented genre, and recently changing to a more progressive metal driven musical style. The band is regarded in Brazil as one of the pioneers of Christian rock in that country, and one of the bands which most contributed to the progress of that musical genre. The band has met considerable success, being nominated to Latin Grammy Awards three times recently, in 2005 and in 2007, and winning the 2009 Best Brazilian Christian Album "Depois Da Guerra".
