Electrifying guitar work that bridges Angolan roots and Brazilian soul. Gritty, high-energy blues for late nights and long drives.
Nuno Mindelis delivers a brand of blues that feels both deeply traditional and startlingly urgent. His guitar playing is characterized by a fierce, biting attack and a sophisticated sense of phrasing that betrays his diverse cultural background. It is the sound of a musician who has lived the blues across continents, bringing a certain muscularity to the instrument that earned him the nickname 'The Beast from Brazil.'
What sets Mindelis apart is the seamless integration of his Angolan heritage and Brazilian home with the gritty foundations of Chicago and Texas blues. While the core is undeniably electric blues rock, there is a rhythmic fluidity and a melodic warmth that feels distinct from his North American peers. His collaborations with Stevie Ray Vaughan's rhythm section, Double Trouble, highlight his ability to command a world-class groove with effortless authority.
Start with 'Texas Bound' or 'Blues on the Outside' to hear him at his most explosive. These albums showcase his technical mastery and his ability to make a Stratocaster scream with a soulful, lived-in intensity that appeals to purists and rock fans alike.
