Nordic Giants

Cinematic post-rock that pairs grand piano and thunderous drums with haunting short-film aesthetics. A ritualistic, high-stakes soundtrack for the end of the world.

Intro

Nordic Giants create music that feels less like a collection of songs and more like a series of urgent, high-definition revelations. Their sound is anchored by the interplay between delicate, crystalline piano melodies and a percussion style that feels tectonic in its power. It is post-rock stripped of its usual guitar-centric tropes, replaced instead by a lush, orchestral sensibility that leans heavily into the cinematic. The atmosphere is consistently thick, often veering between a fragile, wintry beauty and a crushing, apocalyptic intensity.

What truly sets them apart is their commitment to the 'soundtrack' identity. By incorporating poignant spoken-word samples, field recordings, and a visual-first approach to composition, they evoke specific, often heavy, emotional narratives. There is a shamanic, ritualistic quality to the arrangements, where every crescendo feels earned and every silence feels heavy with meaning. It is music designed to overwhelm the senses, demanding a level of focus that most modern background music avoids.

For those new to their world, 'A Séance of Dark Delusions' is the definitive entry point. It perfectly captures their ability to blend guest vocals with sweeping instrumental passages. Listen to it when you want to feel the full weight of the human experience, or when you need a sonic backdrop that matches the scale of your own most profound thoughts.

Nordic Giants are an instrumental post-rock duo from England who include prominent cinematic aspects into the performances and videos. The band released three EPs and a single on their own label before signing to Kscope in 2014. Since then they have released one compilation and two studio albums which featured a number of guest vocalists. The band have toured internationally.
