Smoky, raspy vocals that bring a bluesy grit to polished Italian pop. Sophisticated soul for rainy city nights and reflective moments.
Noemi possesses one of the most distinctive voices in modern Italian music, a deep and gravelly contralto that feels like it has been seasoned by decades of blues and soul. Her sound is a sophisticated intersection of classic Italian melodic tradition and the earthy textures of Motown and rock. It is music that feels lived-in, carrying a weight of experience even in its most radio-friendly moments.
What truly sets her apart is the 'sand' in her voice. While many of her contemporaries aim for crystalline perfection, Noemi leans into the rasp, using it to punctuate emotional peaks and add a layer of vulnerability to her powerhouse belting. Her arrangements often favor warm, organic instrumentation - sweeping strings, Hammond organs, and bluesy guitar licks - that complement her unique vocal timbre.
Start with 'Briciole' to hear the raw soul that launched her career, then move to 'L'amore si odia' for a masterclass in dramatic vocal interplay. For her more experimental, modern side, her collaborations with Carl Brave show how her classic voice can anchor contemporary, sun-drenched indie-pop grooves.
