Nemuer

Nemuer is a Czech dark pagan folk project founded in 2014 by multi-instrumentalist and composer Michael Zann. The project occupies a unique niche at the intersection of neofolk, dark ambient, and historical reconstruction.

Their sound identity is defined by the use of 'dead' languages (such as Old Norse, Ancient Egyptian, and Akkadian) and traditional instruments paired with modern ambient synthesis. This creates a bridge between the archaeological and the artistic, positioning Nemuer as a 'ritual' project rather than a standard musical act. Their career arc has seen a progression from more traditional neofolk elements toward increasingly dense, atmospheric, and conceptual works, often centered on specific mythological cycles.
