Polished, optimistic synthscapes that feel like a high-budget 1980s film score. The sound of neon skylines and digital dreams.
Mitch Murder creates music that feels less like a modern tribute and more like a lost master tape from 1986. It is the sound of optimistic futurism, captured through the warm, humming circuitry of vintage FM synths and crisp drum machines. While many of his peers lean into the dark, aggressive side of the genre, his work maintains a sophisticated, almost breezy quality that balances corporate polish with genuine emotional depth.
What sets him apart is his obsession with the mundane beauty of the era. He captures the specific textures of 80s television idents, weather channel background music, and high-end stereo showrooms. His compositions are harmonically rich, often incorporating complex jazz-adjacent chords that elevate the music beyond simple nostalgia into something technically impressive and deeply evocative.
Start with Interceptor for the definitive high-speed city experience, or dive into Current Events to hear how he transforms the aesthetic of an 80s newsroom into a compelling musical narrative. It is the perfect companion for anyone who wants to live inside a neon-soaked dream of the past.
