Miniature Tigers

Miniature Tigers emerged from the mid-2000s Phoenix indie scene as a project defined by the songwriting of Charlie Brand. Initially a bedroom-pop endeavor, the band quickly evolved into a sophisticated indie-pop unit after Brand connected with drummer Rick Schaier.

Their early work, specifically 'Tell It to the Volcano' (2008), is characterized by a blend of acoustic folk-pop and quirky, narrative-driven lyrics that utilized pop culture as a vessel for emotional catharsis. As the band relocated to Brooklyn, their sound shifted toward synth-pop and neo-psychedelia, reaching a critical peak with 'F O R T R E S S' (2010), which leaned into lush arrangements and more abstract lyrical themes. , bridging the gap between DIY bedroom aesthetics and high-concept studio pop.
