Intro

Âme creates a sound that is both intellectually stimulating and physically grounding. Their music occupies the fertile ground between the soulful, emotive roots of Chicago house and the cold, structural integrity of Berlin techno. It often feels like a living, breathing organism, with layers of synthesizers that swell and recede like tides, anchored by percussion that is intricate without ever being cluttered.

What sets them apart is their commitment to the 'long game' in composition. Unlike many electronic producers who rely on quick loops, Âme builds tension over extended durations, using subtle harmonic shifts and orchestral-style arrangements to create a sense of narrative. There is a distinct 'Innervisions' aesthetic here: expensive-sounding, meticulously mixed, and deeply atmospheric music that feels as appropriate in a modern art gallery as it does in a dark basement.

To experience their range, start with their 2018 album 'Dream House'. It showcases their ability to move beyond the dancefloor into more experimental, cinematic territory. From there, seek out their classic remixes or their DJ sets to hear how they translate that same emotional depth into a high-energy club environment.

Âme is a German house/techno duo consisting of Kristian Beyer and Frank Wiedemann. The duo started making tracks in 2001. Beyer and Wiedemann first met in 2000 in Beyer's record shop in their hometown of Karlsruhe. As they both liked Chicago house and Detroit techno, they started to produce music together. Âme has released music for record labels such as Ostgut Ton and Sonar Kollektiv. Together with Dixon, they own and manage the record label Innervisions in Berlin, Germany. Âme were Mixmag magazine's "Duo of the Year" in 2006.
