High-strung folk punk and midwest emo defined by frantic acoustic strumming and brutally honest, manic-depressive lyrics. Intensely personal and deeply polarizing.
Formed in 2011 in Medina, Ohio, McCafferty is an American indie rock group known for its frequent lineup changes and periodic reformations. Initially a solo acoustic dance-punk project led by Nick Hartkop, the band later expanded its sound to incorporate emo and pop-punk elements. Following multiple breakups, the current iteration of the band consists of Nick Hartkop and his wife, Emily Hartkop, who handles bass duties.
