Dreamy, harp-led pop that feels like a vintage sci-fi film score. Velvety vocals meet electronic pulses for a sophisticated, whimsical late-night listen.
Maylee Todd creates a sonic world that feels like a high-concept lounge on a luxury space station. Her music is a lush intersection of organic instrumentation, specifically the Paraguayan harp, and sleek electronic textures. It is sophisticated yet deeply playful, carrying a warmth that feels both nostalgic for 1960s bossa nova and eager for a digital future.
What truly sets her apart is her background in performance art and comedy, which infuses her work with a sense of theater and curiosity. She avoids the typical tropes of indie pop by incorporating obscure sequencers and unusual rhythmic patterns, resulting in songs that feel like carefully curated art objects. Her voice is a constant, velvety presence that anchors even her most experimental tendencies.
Start with the album 'Maloo' to experience her most refined electronic world-building, or dive into 'Escapology' for a more funk-and-soul-inflected take on her signature harp-driven sound. It is perfect for those who want music that is intellectually stimulating yet physically soothing.
