MALKA

MALKA is the solo project of Tamara Schlesinger, formerly the frontwoman of the acclaimed alt-folk outfit 6 Day Riot. Transitioning from the acoustic-leaning sounds of her previous band, Schlesinger reinvented herself as MALKA to explore a more expansive, percussion-driven art-pop aesthetic.

Her sound identity is defined by a 'more is more' approach to vocal layering, often recording dozens of tracks to create a wall of choral sound that replaces traditional synth pads.
