Sultry deep house infused with cinematic Middle Eastern strings and melancholic melodies. Sophisticated, late-night grooves for rooftop bars and desert drives.
Mahmut Orhan creates a sound that feels like a bridge between the ancient and the ultra-modern. It is deep house at its most cinematic, characterized by lush string arrangements, minor-key melodies, and a steady, hypnotic pulse that never feels rushed. The music carries a distinct Mediterranean warmth, but it is filtered through a cool, urban lens that makes it feel equally at home in a high-end Istanbul lounge or a dark European basement club.
What sets him apart is his masterful integration of traditional instrumentation, particularly the cello and violin, into a digital framework. These acoustic elements provide a soulful, human counterpoint to the crisp drum machines and atmospheric synths. His tracks often feature breathy, emotive vocalists who add a layer of yearning to the already evocative production, creating a vibe that is simultaneously relaxing and deeply engaging.
To get the full experience, start with 'Feel' or his remix of '6 Days'. These tracks perfectly encapsulate his ability to take a familiar groove and elevate it with unexpected melodic flourishes and high-gloss production. It is the ideal soundtrack for moments that require a touch of drama and a lot of style.
