Lumi

Lumi is an influential electronic duo originally formed in Beirut, Lebanon, by Marc Codsi and Mayaline Hage. Emerging in the mid-2000s, they became central figures in the Lebanese underground scene, representing a generation seeking cultural independence through avant-garde pop.

Their sound is characterized by a sophisticated blend of synth-pop, electropop, and art rock, often featuring the production influence of German electronic pioneers like Mouse on Mars. This collaboration brought a 'Dusseldorf school' precision to their Middle Eastern melodic sensibilities. Over their career, the project has evolved significantly, with later releases such as 'Itzal zikinak' and 'Bezperen dirdira' seeing the duo relocate their aesthetic into the Basque cultural sphere, utilizing the Basque language to create a unique form of regional synth-pop.
