Los Rebeldes are the definitive architects of Spanish rockabilly, forming in Barcelona in 1979 during a pivotal moment of cultural liberation in Spain. Led by the charismatic Carlos Segarra, the trio successfully imported the aesthetic and sonic hallmarks of Sun Records and Gene Vincent into the Spanish mainstream.

Their debut, 'Cerveza, chicas y... Rockabilly', established a blueprint of hedonism and musical traditionalism that resonated with a youth culture emerging from decades of social restriction. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, the band evolved from purist rockabilly into a more expansive rock and roll sound, incorporating elements of soul, swing, and pop-rock, which allowed them to achieve significant commercial success compared to their more underground peers. Critically, they are respected for their instrumental proficiency, particularly Segarra's guitar work and the authentic use of the upright bass.
