Lorraine, a trio from Bergen, Norway, emerged in the early 2000s as part of a wave of Scandinavian artists revitalizing the synth-pop and new wave aesthetics of the 1980s. Consisting of Ole Gunnar Gundersen, Anders Winsents, and Paal Myran Haaland, the band initially gained traction with their 2004 debut 'The Perfect Cure' before refining their sound into a more polished, electronic-heavy style.
Their sound identity is heavily influenced by the 'Big Three' of synth-pop: Depeche Mode, New Order, and their fellow countrymen a-ha.
