Intro

Long Shot Party delivers a caffeinated blend of ska-punk and melodic J-rock that feels like an immediate shot of adrenaline. Their sound is defined by the interplay between a driving rhythm section and a prominent two-piece horn section that provides bright, triumphant melodies. It is music that refuses to sit still, characterized by fast tempos, syncopated guitar upstrokes, and choruses designed for collective shouting.

What sets them apart is the sheer density of their six-piece arrangement. Unlike many of their contemporaries who lean into electronic textures, Long Shot Party maintains a distinctly organic, hand-played feel even within their major-label polished productions. The trumpet and saxophone are not just background accents; they are lead instruments that carry the emotional weight of the songs, often mimicking the vocal melodies to create a massive, wall-of-sound effect.

For those looking to dive in, the single 'Distance' is the essential starting point. Famous for its association with Naruto Shippuden, it perfectly encapsulates their ability to balance aggressive punk energy with a sense of soaring, hopeful melody. It is the ideal gateway into a discography that celebrates movement, friendship, and the unbridled joy of a loud brass section.

Long Shot Party (often stylized as LONG SHOT PARTY) was a Japanese six-piece ska band, formed in Sendai, 1998. They released their first mini-album titled Making Ourself Understood in our Sounds in January 2000. And then, in October 2002, their first full album Delta Force released on the Indie Label. In October 2007, they signed with a major label, DefSTAR Records, and released their first major single, "Distance", in January 2008, which was used as the second opening theme for the anime series Naruto Shippuden. Their single "Ano Hi Time Machine" was an opening theme of the anime television series Zoku Natsume Yūjinchō. The band announced their disbandment in December 2010.
