Logh

Delicate, slow-burning indie rock from Sweden. Hushed vocals and brushed drums create a fragile, wintry atmosphere for moments of deep quiet and introspection.

Intro

Logh creates music that feels like a long, cold exhale. Rooted in the early 2000s Swedish indie scene, their sound is defined by a profound sense of space and restraint. It is post-rock that refuses to be bombastic, opting instead for a slowcore-adjacent intimacy where every brushed snare hit and whispered lyric carries the weight of a secret. The guitars often shimmer with a light coating of shoegaze frost, but the core of the music remains grounded in traditional, albeit very quiet, songwriting.

What truly distinguishes Logh is their mastery of the 'quiet-to-slightly-less-quiet' dynamic. Unlike many of their post-rock contemporaries who build toward deafening crescendos, Logh builds toward emotional clarity. The vocals of Mattias Friberg are consistently hushed, sounding as if they are being recorded inches from your ear in a room made of wood and wool. This creates a protective, almost insular listening experience that feels perfectly suited for the darker, colder months of the year.

For those new to the band, Every Time a Bell Rings an Angel Gets His Wings is the essential starting point. It perfectly captures their early blend of indie-rock structure and atmospheric drift. If you find yourself drawn to the more expansive, cinematic side of their sound, A Sunset Panorama offers a slightly more polished but equally melancholic journey into their unique brand of Scandinavian gloom.

Logh (pronounced log) is a post-rock band formed in 1998 in Lund, Sweden. With four members, their first LP was released in 2002 on Bad Taste Records, incorporating elements of indie rock and shoegaze with hushed vocals and introspective lyrics. Played at Sleazys. The album was followed by two more, with lo-fi shoegazer elements, lightly brushed snares, subtle guitar strumming, and droning bass lines. After their second album, Kristofer Ronstrom (drums) was dropped from the band lineup, eventually replaced by not one but three new members, Markku Hildén (drums), Mattias Jeppsson (guitar), and Karl Arvidson (keyboards).
