Intro

Little Glee Monster sounds like a technicolor explosion of human voices. While many of their peers rely on heavy electronic processing, this group prioritizes the raw power of the vocal cord. Their music is built on a foundation of intricate, gospel-influenced harmonies and jazz-adjacent arrangements that elevate standard pop structures into something more sophisticated and physically resonant.

What truly sets them apart is their 'monster' technical ability. They move seamlessly between a cappella sections that would challenge a professional choir and high-energy dance tracks that demand immense breath control. There is a palpable sense of camaraderie in their sound; you can hear the singers listening to one another, adjusting their vibrato and volume to create a perfectly blended sonic wall.

Start with the album 'Flava' to hear them at their commercial and creative peak. It showcases their ability to handle everything from soulful ballads to upbeat funk-pop, all while maintaining their signature multi-part harmony style that has made them a staple of Japanese music television and stadium stages.

Little Glee Monster (リトル グリー モンスター, Ritoru Gurī Monsutā) is a Japanese girl vocal group, formed in 2013. The group currently consists of Asahi Kobayashi, Mayu Yoshida, Karen Koga, Mika Fujihira, Yumi Nagai, and Kamala Miyu Aida. They were signed to Sony Music Entertainment Japan and released their debut single “Houkago High Five” in 2014. Their fifth album, Flava, is their most successful album, peaking at number one on both Oricon and Japan's Billboard charts, and certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of Japan for sales of 100,000. In 2018, they won an award at the 2018 MTV Europe Music Awards for Best Japanese Act. In July 2022, following the extended absence and ultimate resignation of two original members for health reasons, Watanabe Entertainment and Sony Music jointly established the "Monster Groove Lab" to audition new members. From the audition process, three new singers joined in November 2022. In 2025, their song "For Decades" was chosen to be the season support song for the J-League.
