Aggressive, politically charged anthems that collide abrasive hardcore with minor-key ska. It is the sound of urban decay, squat culture, and total systemic defiance.

Intro

This is music that sounds like a riot in a dive bar. It is fast, filthy, and unapologetically confrontational, blending the breakneck speed of hardcore punk with the rhythmic skank of ska. The guitars are jagged and distorted, often giving way to surprisingly melodic but dark horn lines that feel more like a warning than a celebration. It is the definitive sound of the 'Crack Rock Steady' movement: urban, gritty, and deeply cynical.

What sets them apart is the sheer venom in the delivery and the complexity of their arrangements. They do not just play simple three-chord punk; they weave in elements of metal, crust, and even brief, jarring nods to classical music, all held together by a nihilistic DIY production style. The vocals are a mix of nasal sneers and guttural screams, delivering lyrics that are fiercely anti-authoritarian and deeply rooted in the realities of street life and addiction.

Start with 'Fuck World Trade' to hear the band at their most ambitious and cohesive. It captures the perfect balance between their melodic ska sensibilities and their most punishing hardcore tendencies. It is an essential document of early 2000s radical punk that remains just as abrasive and relevant today.

Leftöver Crack is an American punk rock band formed in 1998, following the breakup of Choking Victim. Leftöver Crack spans several different music genres including hardcore punk, ska, and crust punk. They write mostly political lyrics of a radical leftist nature, opposing religion, capitalism, and authority. Members of Leftöver Crack reside in the C-Squat on 155 Avenue C on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Natives of New York City, band members have a well-documented history of back-and-forth conflict with the NYPD which precedes the band's formation. The name "Leftöver Crack" is explained by Stza as being "an oxymoron", based on the idea that crack cocaine addicts are known for vigorous use and are unlikely to have any "leftover" crack.
