Aggressive, glitch-heavy metalcore that feels like a digital system failure. High-velocity riffs and industrial noise for when you need pure sonic catharsis.
Knosis is a Japanese experimental metalcore project formed in late 2022 by vocalist Ryo Kinoshita (formerly of Crystal Lake) and producer/multi-instrumentalist Yosh (of Survive Said The Prophet). The project represents a significant stylistic pivot for Kinoshita, moving away from the polished, anthemic metalcore of his previous work toward a more abrasive, industrial-influenced sound.
Their debut EP, 'The Shattering', established a blueprint of 'cyber-metal' characterized by heavy use of glitch aesthetics, non-linear song structures, and a fusion of nu-metal rhythmic sensibilities with hardcore intensity. The collaboration with Yosh is central to their identity, as his background in diverse genres allows Knosis to incorporate elements of trap, IDM, and noise rock that are often absent in mainstream metal. Critically, they are viewed as part of a new wave of Japanese heavy music (alongside peers like Paledusk) that prioritizes high-speed technicality and digital experimentation. Their signing to SharpTone Records for the 2025 album 'GENKNOSIS' signaled their intent to dominate the global alternative metal market while maintaining a fiercely independent, experimental edge.
