Kali

Born in Martinique in 1959, Jean-Marc Monnerville, professionally known as Kali, is a French musician celebrated for his mastery of the banjo and his influence on Modern Zouk. Throughout his career, he has released music under labels including Epic, Philips, and Hibiscus. Kali is also recognized for his Eurovision Song Contest participation and his provocative songwriting, which frequently addresses complex themes such as slavery, imperialism, and military proliferation.
