Josh Abrahams

High-gloss Australian electronica that bridges the gap between underground breakbeats and pop hooks. Heavy on the sub-bass, smooth on the finish.

Intro

Josh Abrahams crafts a sound that feels like the intersection of a high-end recording studio and a dark, bass-heavy warehouse party. It is music defined by its rhythmic elasticity, where the frantic energy of drum and bass is smoothed out by sophisticated production and melodic sensibilities. The low-end is always the protagonist, providing a physical weight that anchors the more ethereal synth pads and vocal fragments floating above.

What truly sets Abrahams apart is his ability to translate underground dance music languages into accessible, chart-ready structures without losing the grit. His work as Puretone showcased a mastery of 'liquid' textures, blending organic bass guitar performance with digital precision. It is a polished, professional take on the breakbeat era that feels both nostalgic for the turn of the millennium and technically timeless.

Start with the classic 'Addicted to Bass' for the definitive high-energy introduction, then move into the album 'Sweetest Taboo' to hear how he integrates pop-vocal hooks with complex electronic arrangements. It is the perfect soundtrack for anyone who wants the intensity of a club environment with the melodic depth of a pop record.
