English singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Jona Lewie, born John Lewis in 1947, is a prominent figure in the new wave genre. He gained significant recognition through his association with Stiff Records. Lewie is best remembered for his two major 1980 UK chart successes, the popular tracks Stop the Cavalry and You'll Always Find Me in the Kitchen at Parties, which cemented his legacy in the British music scene.
