Jakob

Formed in 1998, the New Zealand post-rock trio Jakob hails from Napier. The group features guitarist Jeff Boyle, bassist Maurice Beckett, and drummer Jason Johnston. While critics often draw parallels between their sound and artists like Mogwai or Sonic Youth, the band distinguishes itself by creating instrumental music that avoids both vocal tracks and pre-recorded samples. Their work is currently represented by the record label The Mylene Sheath.
