Hyper-technical deathcore that pushes human performance to its absolute limit. Blistering speed, satirical shock, and inhuman vocals for the heaviest moments.
This is music that sounds like a computer trying to simulate a riot in a cathedral. It is characterized by an almost impossible level of technical proficiency, where the drums move at speeds that challenge the laws of physics and the guitars weave through complex, jagged patterns. The overall sound is incredibly dense and polished, leaving no room for silence or subtlety. It is an all-out sensory assault designed to overwhelm.
What sets this project apart is the marriage of extreme technicality with a deeply irreverent, satirical streak. While the sonic foundation is rooted in the most brutal corners of death metal, there is a distinct 'internet-era' self-awareness to their presentation. The vocal performances are particularly noteworthy, utilizing a range of animalistic snarls, guttural lows, and high-pitched shrieks that function more like a lead instrument than a traditional narrative voice.
For those looking to dive in, the 2016 album 'The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch' is the definitive starting point. It captures the band at their most ambitious, blending their signature speed with more expansive songwriting. It is a challenging but rewarding listen for anyone who appreciates the outer limits of heavy music and the technical mastery required to play it.
Infant Annihilator are an English-American deathcore band formed in Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire in 2012 by drummer Aaron Kitcher and guitarist Eddie Pickard. The group is recognized for its highly technical and extreme musical style, incorporating eclectic compositional elements, as well as for its satirical, deliberately provocative lyrical themes and shock-oriented humor. Their music videos frequently feature overtly irreverent and ribald imagery. Although the two founding members are English, the band’s vocalist has consistently been American. Their debut album, The Palpable Leprosy of Pollution (2012), featured Indiana-born vocalist Dan Watson and was released later that year. Following a lineup change, Massachusetts native Dickie Allen assumed vocal duties. The band’s second album, The Elysian Grandeval Galèriarch (2016), was recorded and mixed by Jesse Kirkbride at his home studio, Kirkbride Recordings. Their third studio album, The Battle of Yaldabaoth, was released on 11 September 2019. Infant Annihilator were described by the Hysteria Magazine as an Internet band and even though they have stated that touring is a possibility, they have performed only as a studio project so far.
