Emerging from the Quebec disco scene, Soccio distinguished himself through a heavy reliance on synthesizers and drum machines, influenced significantly by the minimalist electronic structures of Kraftwerk.

His 1979 album 'Outline' and the hit single 'Dancer' marked a shift away from the lush, string-heavy disco of Philadelphia toward a more mechanical, 'space-age' aesthetic. This transition was crucial in the development of Italo-disco and Hi-NRG. Soccio's work is characterized by high production values, precise sequencing, and a sophisticated use of analog synthesizers like the Minimoog and Polymoog.
