Frontside

Formed in 1993 in Sosnowiec, Poland, Frontside is a foundational pillar of the Polish heavy music scene. Founded by Astek and Demon, the band emerged from a background of harsh personal experiences and a deep reverence for both the thrash metal of Slayer and the hardcore energy of Agnostic Front.

They are widely credited as one of the first bands in Poland to successfully execute a 'crossover' style, blending the technicality of metal with the raw, socio-political urgency of hardcore punk. Over three decades, their sound has evolved from raw demo tapes to highly polished, award-winning studio productions, notably winning the Fryderyk award in 2003. Their discography reflects a 'natural eclecticism,' incorporating elements of deathcore, melodic metalcore, and even hard rock. Critically, they are respected for their longevity and their ability to maintain a massive local following while signing with major European labels like Regain Records. They occupy a unique cultural position as elder statesmen of Polish metal who continue to push into more daring, brutal sonic territories.
