Intro

Imagine a secret circus performance happening in a post-apocalyptic wine cellar. Frenchy and the Punk deliver a sound that is tactile and immediate, driven by the frantic, percussive strumming of an acoustic guitar and tribal drum rhythms that feel like a call to gather. It is music that occupies the space between a Parisian cafe in the 1920s and a DIY punk show in a Brooklyn basement.

What truly sets them apart is the chemistry between Samantha Stephenson’s dramatic, Siouxsie-esque vocals and Scott Helland’s intricate live looping. They manage to sound like a full ensemble through sheer rhythmic ingenuity, blending Celtic melodies with a dark, gothic sensibility. The lyrics skip between English and French, adding a layer of worldly mystery to their high-energy, foot-stomping arrangements.

Start with 'Hey Hey Cabaret' to get the full breadth of their theatrical charm. It captures the duo at their most infectious, offering a perfect entry point into their world of 'Batfrogs,' clockwork aesthetics, and bohemian rebellion. It is the ideal soundtrack for anyone who finds beauty in the strange and energy in the acoustic.
