Aggressive, high-velocity drum and bass that hits with the impact of a sledgehammer. Dystopian soundscapes and industrial textures for high-intensity moments.
Evol Intent is the sound of a digital apocalypse. Their music is characterized by blistering tempos, jagged breakbeats, and a thick, distorted low-end that feels physically imposing. It is not just dance music; it is a sonic assault that borrows the raw energy of punk rock and the cold, mechanical precision of industrial noise. Every track feels like it is on the verge of structural collapse, held together by expert engineering and a relentless sense of momentum.
What sets them apart is their ability to weave cinematic dread into the chaos. They often open tracks with eerie, atmospheric soundscapes or provocative vocal samples that set a grim, narrative stage before the drums shatter the tension. Their signature 'hardstep' style is defined by its uncompromising aggression and complex rhythmic layering, making it a favorite for those who find standard club music too polite.
Start with the album 'Era of Diversion.' It is a masterclass in how to expand the boundaries of drum and bass, incorporating elements of IDM and rock without losing the core intensity that made them legends in the underground darkstep scene.
