Eternal Summers

Shimmering jangle pop meets the gritty urgency of a basement punk show. Hazy, melodic rock that feels like the last warm day of September.

Intro

Eternal Summers capture the exact feeling of a fading season. Their sound is built on a foundation of classic jangle pop, but it is constantly being interrupted by the jagged energy of garage rock and the atmospheric wash of shoegaze. It is music that feels both nostalgic and urgent, balancing Nicole Yun's airy, melodic vocals against a backdrop of driving rhythms and thick, reverb-heavy guitar textures.

What makes them stand out is their evolution from minimalist lo-fi beginnings into a sophisticated power trio. They manage to be 'dreamy' without ever becoming sleepy; there is always a rhythmic backbone or a sharp, distorted riff keeping the songs grounded. It is the sound of a band that knows exactly how to use noise to enhance a melody rather than hide it.

Start with 'Correct Behavior' to hear them at their most infectious and punchy. If you prefer something more expansive and texturally rich, 'Gold and Stone' showcases their ability to weave jazzier influences and lush production into their signature indie rock framework.

Eternal Summers are an American indie rock band from Roanoke, Virginia, United States. Singer/guitarist Nicole Yun and drummer Daniel Cundiff started Eternal Summers in 2009 as a duo after being introduced by their eventual bassist, Jonathan Woods. Eternal Summers released their debut album, Silver, on Kanine Records in 2010. They enlisted bassist Jonathan Woods in 2012 before releasing their second album, Correct Behavior, also on Kanine Records. On March 4, 2014, they released their third album, The Drop Beneath, which was produced by Doug Gillard. Their fifth album, Every Day It Feels Like I'm Dying..., was released in May 2018.
