Intro

Eskmo creates a world where the mechanical and the natural are indistinguishable. His music feels like a living machine, breathing through field recordings of keys jingling, wood snapping, and water dripping, all woven into heavy, syncopated beats. It is high-definition electronic music that retains a dusty, human thumbprint, balancing the precision of IDM with the soul of downtempo.

What truly sets Brendan Angelides apart is his 'musician as magician' approach to foley. He doesn't just use synths; he builds entire rhythmic ecosystems out of found sounds. The bass is deep and physical, often anchoring ethereal vocal melodies that have been chopped and processed until they feel like another instrument in the mix. It is music that rewards close listening, revealing new layers of texture with every spin.

Start with his 2010 self-titled album on Ninja Tune. It is the definitive statement of his sound, bridging the gap between experimental sound design and accessible, melodic songwriting. If you find yourself drawn to the more cinematic elements, his soundtrack work for 'Billions' or 'Assassin's Creed Mirage' showcases how his unique textures translate into sweeping, atmospheric narratives.

Brendan Angelides, formerly known by his stage names Eskmo and Welder, is an American electronic music producer and composer. He has released music on the record labels Interscope, Ninja Tune, Planet Mu, and Warp Records. NPR's Bob Boilen described him as "part musician, part magician". to introduce his 2015 Tiny Desk Performance. Angelides has composed scores for film, television, and videogames. In 2024, he was nominated for a BAFTA Award for his score on Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed Mirage. Television series include the entire seven seasons of Showtime's Billions, Showtime's Superpumped, Netflix's 13 Reasons Why and Netflix's Echoes. Most recently, Angelides co-composed the score for Darren Aronofsky's Postcard From Earth, alongside his collaborators in the Echo Society, which is showing for two years at the Las Vegas Sphere.
