Erik Sumo

Erik Sumo is the primary creative outlet for Hungarian polymath Ambrus Tövisházi, a central figure in the Budapest alternative scene. Emerging in the early 2000s, the project initially gained international traction through the 'Just a Woman' single, which aligned him with the global downtempo and nu-jazz movements championed by DJs like Gilles Peterson.

However, Tövisházi quickly moved beyond simple club-oriented beats, developing a signature 'Erik Sumo' sound that incorporates elements of 60s pop, psych-rock, and cinematic scoring.
