Established in Germany in 1990, Enigma is a new age musical project spearheaded by producer Michael Cretu. Moving away from conventional industry standards, Cretu sought to explore mysticism through his work. The project gained significant international recognition following the 1990 release of its debut album, MCMXC a.D., which featured the hit single Sadeness (Part I). Enigma has since released multiple records under the Virgin and Charisma labels, incorporating various collaborative contributions.
