Intro

Elite Force delivers a masterclass in kinetic energy, specializing in a style often dubbed tech-funk. It is music that feels like it was engineered in a high-tech garage, blending the syncopated swagger of breakbeat with the relentless, driving pulse of techno. The sound is characterized by thick, rubbery basslines, razor-sharp percussion, and a cinematic scale that makes every track feel like the climax of an action sequence.

What sets Simon Shackleton's work apart is the sheer muscularity of the production. Unlike the more atmospheric or 'chill' side of electronica, Elite Force is unapologetically physical. He uses digital textures that feel metallic and heavy, yet maintains a groove that is impossible to ignore. There is a constant sense of forward motion, often punctuated by clever vocal chops and industrial-tinged sound effects that add a layer of urban grit to the polished studio sound.

For those new to the project, the 2008 'Back Catalogue' is an essential starting point, showcasing his evolution and his prowess as a remixer. It captures the era when he was bridging the gap between the big beat explosion and the more refined tech-house and breaks scenes. It is perfect for high-intensity workouts, late-night drives, or any moment where you need a shot of pure sonic adrenaline.

Simon Shackleton is an English electronic music producer, composer, DJ, and performer. His music has appeared in films such as The Matrix, Arlington Road, Charlie's Angels, Titan A.E. and The Jackal, as well as in video games including MotorStorm, FIFA 2000, and Need for Speed: High Stakes. Since 1996, Shackleton has produced and performed under aliases including "Elite Force", and received several awards including a 2011 Beatport Award for the highest selling breakbeat track of the year. In the same year, he won two International Breakbeat Awards (Breakspoll Awards) for Best Producer and Best Label (U&A Recordings). He previously ran the Fused & Bruised label (1996–2002), and has been described as a leading proponent of the Tech-Funk movement, which merges elements of house, electro, and breakbeat. In the 2010s, he gained a reputation for extended DJ sets through his "One Series" events in the US and UK.
