Intro

Duda Beat creates a sonic world where the vulnerability of a diary entry meets the infectious energy of a Recife street party. Her music is characterized by a unique 'suffering with a beat' philosophy, blending the traditional sentimentality of Brazilian Brega with sleek, modern electropop production. It feels like a warm embrace from a friend who understands exactly why you are crying over that one person again, but insists you put on your best outfit anyway.

What truly sets her apart is the seamless integration of Northeastern Brazilian regionalisms with global indie-pop sensibilities. Her voice is often layered into shimmering clouds of harmony, floating over sharp drum machine patterns and rubbery basslines. There is a distinct textural richness to her work, moving from the lo-fi intimacy of her debut to the high-gloss, high-energy experimentation of her later albums, all while maintaining a signature wit and emotional honesty.

Start with 'Sinto Muito' to experience the foundational 'Bixinho' era, where her persona as the 'Queen of Suffering' was born. It is the perfect entry point for anyone who loves pop music that is as intellectually curious as it is emotionally resonant. From there, move to 'Tara e Tal' to hear her evolve into a more aggressive, club-ready sound that proves she can command a massive festival stage just as easily as a quiet bedroom.

Eduarda Bittencourt Simões (Portuguese: [siˈmõj̃ʃ]; born October 8, 1987), better known as Duda Beat, is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. She won the ACPA Award for Breakthrough Artist in 2018, and her debut album Sinto Muito was listed among Rolling Stone Brasil's best 50 Brazilian records of that year. Duda Beat was nominated for a 2021 Latin Grammy Award for Best Brazilian Contemporary Pop Album for her album in partnership with Nando Reis.
