com was the primary creative outlet for Jürgen Engler during the hiatus of the legendary industrial act Die Krupps between 1997 and 2005. Based in Germany but featuring a rotating cast of international collaborators, the project bridged the gap between classic EBM and the burgeoning industrial metal scene of the late 90s.
The sound is characterized by Engler's signature use of mechanized guitar riffs, heavy electronic sequencing, and aggressive vocal delivery. The debut album 'Decaydenz' featured a notable list of guests including Doro Pesch and members of Nitzer Ebb, signaling its position at the intersection of the goth-industrial and metal worlds. Critically, the project was seen as a more modern, perhaps more accessible evolution of the Die Krupps sound, leaning into the 'cyber' aesthetic prevalent in the early 2000s.
