Intro

Devon Allman carries a sound that feels like a well-worn leather jacket: sturdy, familiar, and better with age. While the DNA of Southern rock is undeniably present, his music leans harder into a soulful, urban blues aesthetic than the swampy jams of his predecessors. It is music built on the foundation of the Gibson Les Paul, characterized by thick, singing sustain and a rhythmic pocket that swings with a sophisticated, mid-tempo groove.

What sets him apart is the vocal delivery. He possesses a rich, raspy baritone that avoids the typical histrionics of modern rock, opting instead for a conversational intimacy that feels earned. His production often favors analog warmth, allowing the interplay between the Hammond B3 organ and his custom-shop guitar tones to breathe without the sterile compression of contemporary radio rock.

Start with 'Ride or Die' to hear the perfect intersection of his songwriting and guitar prowess. It captures that specific 'open road' energy that makes his music a staple for anyone who finds solace in the combination of a high-wattage amplifier and a long stretch of asphalt.

Devon Lane Allman (born August 10, 1972) is an American guitarist, vocalist, songwriter, and record producer. He is the son of musician and singer-songwriter Gregg Allman and has appeared occasionally as a guest musician for Gregg Allman and The Allman Brothers Band. Allman is the founder and bandleader of Honeytribe, also known as Devon Allman's Honeytribe, with whom he released two albums and toured across North America and Europe. Prior to Honeytribe, Allman contributed to several other musical recordings, notably Vargas Blues Band and the A Song for My Father compilation album. He was one of the original members of Royal Southern Brotherhood and contributed to their first two studio albums and toured with them. In 2013, Allman launched his solo career as the Devon Allman Band, and has since released three albums. His latest tour, branded as the Devon Allman Project, features special guest Duane Betts.
