Deserted Fear

Deserted Fear is a cornerstone of the 'New Wave of Old School Death Metal' (NWOSDM) movement, emerging from Eisenberg, Germany in 2007. Their sound is a sophisticated synthesis of the Stockholm death metal scene (Entrails, Dismember) and the melodic sensibilities of the Gothenburg sound (At the Gates), all filtered through a modern production lens.

Unlike many of their peers who aim for a lo-fi, cavernous aesthetic, Deserted Fear utilizes high-fidelity studio techniques to emphasize the clarity of their melodic leads and the sheer weight of their rhythm section. The band has maintained a remarkably stable lineup consisting of Manuel Glatter, Fabian Hildebrandt, and Simon Mengs, which has resulted in a highly cohesive discography.
