High-voltage progressive rock that pairs soaring falsetto with intricate, heavy instrumentation. Deeply cinematic music rooted in nature and resistance.
Crown Lands sounds like a massive, multi-member orchestra distilled into the bodies of just two people. It is a wall of sound built from Moog bass pedals, shimmering 12-string guitars, and drumming that feels both tribal and mathematically precise. The vocals are a force of nature, reaching stratospheric heights that recall the golden age of 70s prog while maintaining a modern, urgent edge.
What makes them truly distinctive is the marriage of virtuoso technicality with profound social purpose. While many prog bands get lost in abstract fantasy, this duo uses their complex arrangements to tell stories of Indigenous history and the reclamation of stolen land. The music feels ancient and futuristic at once, utilizing analog warmth to ground their sprawling, multi-part epics.
Start with the album Fearless. It is their most realized statement, featuring the eighteen-minute odyssey Starlifter: Fearless Pt. II, which showcases their ability to move from delicate acoustic passages to thunderous, heavy-rock climaxes without losing the listener's attention.
